So far, I've written two stories for Wall-E. I'm planning quite a few more, including a few multi-chapter ones. Hope you all enjoy! Their SongTheir Song was a one-shot I did dedicated to my new OTP. I'm very proud of how it came out. Actually, this was one of the first Wall-E fanfics on FF.net, now that I think of it. MalcontentAt the time I wrote this, almost , if not all, of the other fanfics in the Wall-E section were Wall-Eve. This was my attempt to step away from that trend. Malcontent focuses on the friendship between M-O and Eve and her feelings before the movie began.

I just finished the first one, and I love it. I've been looking forward to some Fan Fic set in the future for these two, hoping it could capture the "happily ever after" feeling that I want for them, and this did just that. I'll let ya know what I think of the second in a few.
ETA: I don't like the second one as much, but there's some ideas in there that are great and really made me think. I prefer when the robots communicate via gestures and short phrases, personally, though. I never thought the EVE probes might be going somewhere other than Earth, but that does make quite a lot of sense, especially if they had the capability to reach galaxies outside of our own.

I really liked both of these a lot. Well done! "Their Song" Poetic, sweet and quiet. Written almost like a song. I also liked the fact that you didn't actually name the song -- because, let's face it -- we know which song you're talking about. (Some fan fics I've read basically tell me the whole plot of the movie again, as if I don't know it. That turns me off so quick.) Very beautiful story that doesn't over-"humanize" WALL-E and EVE's unique relationship. (Another fault of most fan-fic I read -- too many "human love" characteristics without giving me a reason why.) "Malcontent" VERY well-done. I especially liked how you overcame the "lack of dialogue" issue by introducing the concept that M-O and EVE can talk to each other through a "native" robot language . . . but still has limitations when it comes to expressing emotions. Very clever and completely realistic. I also really like the overall concept, because I've sort of imagined just this thing when I picture EVE's life pre-WALL-E. I also like the fact that you portray EVE as sort of like the humans on the Axiom -- bored and stuck in a "pointless" existence. Very well done. Looking forward to more! *Adding to favorite authors*

Their song, holy craps thats seriously the 2nd only thing I have read that made me tear up, simply beutifull <3 Ok your 2nd one was pretty good, I liked the idea that it was her first time going to earth becuase they have a rotation, but then I heard that she was newer and I didint like that at all I have a firm belief that wall-e and eve are the exact same age All in all that was some epic reading, and like I said I absolutly loved their song <3

That's funny, callandor . . . because I've kind of thought the same thing myself. Maybe not exactly the same age, but pretty close. I always pictured the EVE probes as being created immediately after the evacuation of Earth. Which, if "our" EVE was part of that first batch, would mean that she is about the same age as WALL-E. Interesting perspectives!

Both were fantastic! Please post more when you can!
As for my opinion on EVE's age, the Fan Fic does mention that she is one of the newer models, which would imply that there are older EVE models also being sent and that she is indeed younger than WALL-E. Simply put, she's a young newbie and this is her first shift to Earth.
Some confusion can arise though from the word "planets", which indicate that they visit more than one planet. But if you read before that, it does say that their destination, Earth, never changed. The 's' in 'planets' is probably a typo.
... but then again, to counter my argument above... why was she sad about her pointless existence if she hasn't been around too long in the first place... hmm...

Appologies about "Malcontent", it was written back when I hadn't really read into Wall-E as much as now. If I'd written it now, she wouldn't be described as new. Maybe I'll revise it given the commentary you all have provided...*shrugs*
Actually, no typo. I intended "planets", and I'll tell you why: that fanfic was partially inspired by another called "Eve of the Axiom" (not on FF.net, on Wall-E Fanbase). It introduced the idea humans had terraformed other planets and that made sense to me. All those Eve probes can't all be headed to Earth...it just doesn't make sense. I think it makes far more sense to say there are other destinations the Eves could be headed towards, other planets Buy N' Large took over. (heck, there was going to be an outlet mall on the moon, so it's not all that outrageous).
When I said their destinations never changed, I just meant the Eves probably visited planets in a specific order.
As for Eve feeling her life was frustrating...I didn't imagine she was too young. Maybe just long enough to have seen how hard it was to do her job, but young enough to be considered a newer model. I dunno what exactly my train of thought was on it.
Still, I'm glad for all the feedback and critism! It inspires me to keep writing. Thanks so much guys.

Right after? Id say the eve probes were reading to roll before they even launched :S But thats my point of view Cause remeber they wanted to party up in space, not have to do any work at all, so the probes must have been desgned before the launch

Hmm, I dunno, the EVE probes seemed like they'd take more advanced technology than was available before The Axiom left, but I guess since it was "top of the line" that could explain that. It gives some perspective on the WALL-E project if EVE technology was available and they just made these little box machines to deal with the trash problem, though.

Yes, that's kind of how I've imagined it. The WALL-E units weren't given the same respect as the Axiom projects. But I've never heard anything that would prove this -- it's just something I've sort of come up with to push WALL-E (and Operation Clean-up) farther down the "robot totem pole".

They where left their to clean up earth's garbage, they wernt ment to be fancy, Spend less money on the niceness of the machine but on its efficiency and its quaninty, If i were them, id rather have more crappy looking robots, then only a couple fancy ones

They could have made them even more efficient using better technology. It's not so much the "fancy appearance", but the fancy technology, which would allow them to be better and more efficient.
