www.dvdtown.com/news/details-on-possible-wall-e-dvd-and-blu-ray-release/5844First details on Wall-E DVD and Blu-ray release
UK magazine DVD Monthly has details on the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of Wall-E.
The magazine reports that the title will arrive on November 24th in the UK. A more likely US date could be November 25th.
Extras include:
Presto´ Theatrical Short
´BURN•E´ DVD Exclusive Short
´UP´ Teaser Trailer
Audio Commentary With Director Andrew Stanton
Featurettes: ´Animation Sound Design: Building Worlds From The Sound Up´ - An introduction to Ben Burtt´s sound design work on WALL•E, contextualized against animation sound design from the early Disney films. The custom sound-design process is illustrated with examples from both WALL•E and historic footage of the Disney sound effects masters at work.
´WALL•E´s Tour of the Universe´ (US Only) Join WALL•E on his own private tour of the Universe through the World-Wide Telescope, narrated by Auto-Pilot.
Deleted Scenes With Introductions: ´Garbage Airlock´ - In this original Garbage Airlock scene, it´s WALL•E who must heroically rescue EVE from being ejected from the ship, and then revive her before she dies.
´Dumped´ - In this alternate revelation scene, WALL•E presents the plant to EVE, and she realizes she must deliver it to the Bridge for analysis.
Again, US details may be slightly different and we will be back with more when they are released. The "deleted" scenes sounds really interesting . . . and probably "Garbage Airlock" isn't a total surprise if you were paying really close attention in the first trailers that were released last year.

I'm looking forward to the audio commentary...I like hearing Stanton talk about the movie. That Tour of the Universe thing...I'm not really sure what exactly it is just from that description. Guess I'll just have to find out.

Yeah I remember thinking the airlock scene where WALL-E met M-O was changed drastically in the film from the previews. All of these sound great so far.

I'm confused about "Dumped." I guess it means Eve doesn't shut off, and she's just like "Sorry, Wall-E, gotta go"?
I'm really excited to see that Airlock alternate scene. I hope it's the whole finished product instead of just storyboards or something. But if they do have the finished product (and it seems like they do because of that bit from the trailer) it would seem as though they changed it last minute which makes me wonder... wouldn't the whole rest of the movie have been different if they kept it as Wall-E rescuing Eve? Because now Eve is hurt, and Wall-E has to help her get the plant to the holo-detector, and then he would have to take her to his truck to fix her, and then she would be the one who loses her memory....Because I can't see how it would have worked if Eve gets hurt, and then suddenly Wall-E is the one getting hurt...but then again I guess it could have worked...
I think too much...

Then me too . . . because when I saw the film and realized that the trailer had WALL-E saving EVE instead of the other way around, I wondered all that myself. (Hey, that's why we're on this form -- we think too much!) ;D One thing I think is interesting in director commentary on films . . . I think this sort of things happens a lot . . . because many times I'll hear them say, "oh, we were going to have other main character do this and that and then decided that we needed the other main character to show that he/she are smart/powerful/etc. too and this was the best opportunity." I imagine the first drafts of the screenplay were really "WALL-E heavy", in that WALL-E does everything important. And it probably became clear pretty soon that EVE's character was getting neglected in the process. And switching who saves who in the "Garbage Airlock" scene would have been a perfect opportunity to show EVE's strength of character and concern for WALL-E when we already know WALL-E would be willing to save her.

Very, very true...I mean, we see WALL-E chasing after EVE throughout the Axiom for a significant length of time.
Having seen the movie, it seems strange to me that EVE would ever need rescuing...she can pretty easily take care of herself. ;D

Most definitely. I don't think the movie would have been the same if it was all Wall-E saving Eve. It would have been the typical hero-saves-the-damsel-in-distress. The switched roles was a very nice touch and I just think it was so interesting to see how Eve developed.

Anyone know what a Geek Track is? Perhaps something that indicates all the obscure sci-fi/etc. references that the film contains as you're watching it.

Garbage Airlock´ - In this original Garbage Airlock scene, it´s WALL•E who must heroically rescue EVE from being ejected from the ship, and then revive her before she dies Its like the video game, it was really differt, you have to rebuild eve instead of the other way around :S

Yeah, they have it on my Hellboy 3-Disc set. You basically see both the people commenting in one picture, and the movie in another. I'm not sure how they do it on most movies, but on the Hellboy DVD the people talking take up most of the screen, and the movie itself is reduced to a small box in the bottom left corner.

And switching who saves who in the "Garbage Airlock" scene would have been a perfect opportunity to show EVE's strength of character and concern for WALL-E when we already know WALL-E would be willing to save her. Exactly. We've already seen WALL-E take care of EVE while she was hibernating, and we've had the scene where EVE sees all that WALL-E did for her. I don't think the scene would have been nearly as powerful if it had been WALL-E saving EVE in the garbage disposal. If they had kept the original scene, that would have probably changed the ending of the whole movie...Unless WALL-E fixed EVE before they went to the Holo-Detector, in which case the film still could have had the same ending sequence. But I'm SO glad they decided to change it to what it is now.
