Wall*E is one of my favorite characters in the movie. I found myself rooting for the little guy and shedding a tear on a few occassions. He certainly tugged at the hearts of a lot of people!

Here's my ranking of favorite robots from movies and TV in order of most to least: 1. Wall-E 2. The Iron Giant 3. Johnny 5 4. The original Cylons 5. Bender 6. T-101/T-850 (Terminator) 7. Robby the Robot (Forbidden Planet) 8. R2-D2 9. B-9 (Lost in Space) Ok, I had Buzz Lightyear at #2 just because he's such a great character that I wanted him to get a mention -- but it's true; he's a "space ranger", not a robot. I bow to the will of the masses and hereby delete him from the list!

Buzz Lightyear doesn't really count as a robot, does he? In the movies he's a toy, and in the cartoon he's an actual spaceman.

WALL-E is awesome. Aside from being just plain adorable, the little guy is just filled with so much heart...and despite being the catalyst for a huge change throughout the Axiom among both the robots and the humans, he really just has one simple desire: someone to love him.

I love him! He is the most adorable thing ever created! Kittens used to be on the top of my list, but I've changed my mind. I want one of my own.
I think what's so cool about Wall-E is he's the protagonist but he's the one changing everyone around him rather than vice versa. That's what makes him such a unique character.
On that note, I have a random question that just popped into my head. In the airlock disposal scene when Wall-E hands the plant to Eve and says (or attempts to say), "Directive," and he tells Eve she needs to get the ship back to earth, is he trying to say, "You've got a job to do. Go do it. Forget about me, because this is more important," or is he saying, "Earth is the only way you can save me"? Because he shows her the lighter and does the eye thing, but I don't know if that's just coincidence or not...

I think he's saying the only way she can fix him is by returning to Earth, where all his spare parts are. Which is probably why Eve suddenly brightened up upon realizing that. You see, Wall-E is also very smart... he's going to kill two birds with one stone ;D

;D I like that description . . . because, yes, I think it just shows that everyone needs to go back to earth. That's where everyone belongs -- it's just for WALL-E it's now more urgent.
