Believe it or not, it exists. What are some of the worst you've heard? "It offended me because..." ..it contained environmentalism. ..it contained anti-consumerism. ..everyone was fat. ..I am a Republican. "It's just a kid's movie!!!!" "A cartoon can't be as good as real movies!!!!" "It wasn't as good as *insert favorite Pixar* and since everyone else likes it more than *insert favorite Pixar* then I hate it!!!!"

"Because the robots fall in love and robots don't have genders. It doesn't make sense."
I swear I saw that somewhere.
Another one was "'I'm tired of being hit over the head by environmental messages. None of my kids will go or own any merchandise either. "
Poor kids, they're missing out on a good movie. :c

That environmental one really gets me. I wonder what messages it is okay for their kids to hear. *shakes head* That "robots don't have genders" one is hilarious, though, never heard that one before.

Ugh, I know. The main focus of the movie isn't even about the environment, but a relationship. People are too busy looking at the "EARTH IS COVERED IN GARBAGE" part and forget about how fabulous AUTO is about the love Wall-E and Eve have for each other. I saw it on that IMBd site earlier today. It's funny how some people get so worked up about a Pixar movie on there.

Because it's not The Dark Knight, THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE.
I personally haven't seen The Dark Knight. But I HIGHLY doubt I'm going to like it more than WALL-E.

Take the obsession elsewhere MM, like a TDK board. Because it's not The Dark Knight, THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE. I personally haven't seen The Dark Knight. But I HIGHLY doubt I'm going to like it more than WALL-E. I've seen them both, and I still enjoyed WALL-E more. TDK is excellent, it just wasn't genre-defying and unique in the same way WALL-E was.

There was no dialogue for the first half hour! It was so boring! A movie can't be interesting without dialogue for that long!

"It has no dialogue, therefore it has no story!"
"It ended too happily! WALL-E should have not gotten his memory back!"

I hate that last one. It's like they forgot what movie they're watching. If the movie had built up to a sad ending in any way, then I'd be all for that, but the way the story was built and the way the movie was meant to be tonally, a sad ending would've made no sense.

Cashier at music store where I am buying WALL-E soundtrack: "Did you see it?"
Me: "Yes, we all loved it. Best Pixar yet."
Cashier: "It had too much slapstick. 'Ratatouille' was better."
Me: (trying to be polite) "Yes, well, 'Ratatouille' was very good too." (while thinking: "You mean a film in which one of the main characters spends half the movie flailing his arms around had *less* slapstick than WALL-E?")
