Once again, truly excellent. I found one tiny typo, I'm assuming “. . .moisure in main cables ." means "moisture in main cables."

I feel a little dumb for asking, but for some reason I couldn't catch on to what the two hot/red cold/blue sensations were supposed to represent.

No, not dumb at all. It's meant to be a bit symbolic and sort of unclear because he himself is not completely clear on what's happening. He's beginning to feel a variety of emotions but doesn't have the ability to express what feelings are, so he's coming up with a very rudimentary way of categorizing these new feelings. He's hit upon a "yin/yang" sort of system -- "hot" are the emotions that motivate, excite, such as fear, anger, boredom, etc . . . and "cold" are the emotions that are calming, meditative, depressive, mourning, longing, quieting kinds of feelings. In the end he chooses to identify these two "states" using colors . . . the two colors he's most familiar with which are the ones that make up the BNL logo -- red and blue.

Ah! Excellent and very good job with the symbolism. Thanks for the explanation.

That was fantastic! Please keep going! I'm hooked now! That was also great use of symbolism using the colors from the BnL logo to break down two basic diametrics of emotion Some parts were pretty scary in some sense... I mean I could imagine what it's probably like to perform a medical procedure on myself Keep us posted!

;D Yes, I thought about that and kind of wondered if I should have him stop and be a little nervous . . . but in the end, I decided that to a robot having bolts unscrewed or things replaced would probably be on the same level as having your hair cut or brushing your teeth for humans. Once he knows how to do it, it's not a big deal to him.

with your writing, I can completely see the story playing in my mind. Yes, I noticed this speicifally about vanessa's writing style and firm grasp of the WALL-E Universe. Whenever I read her stories I am literally seeing a fully rendered CGI WALL-E short film play out in my head.

Wow. All I can is I'm really humbled by these comments. But I'm so glad what's I've done is so vivid and realistic that it plays out as "real" in the WALL-E universe to a reader. I've really tried to adapt Stanton's philosophy -- I just try to write the kind of story I want as a fan to be able to read -- and will read over and over again. No, I'm not a professional writer, but that's actually what I'm hoping to do a little more of in retirement. (I have writers in my family so I know how committed a person has to be to do it professionally.) Fan fic is practice for that day. Thanks so much everyone!

WALL-E is progressing so well in your stories. You're right, it is good to have his system acting as a character, especially since WALL-E is the only character remaining in the story thus far. I enjoyed reading about his encounter with the scanning machine because you can see that he is able to feel some basic emotions. I can't wait to see where you go from here!
