I feel really stupid now. Yes, I only saw page 2. I'd actually be interested in reading the junior novelization if it's almost a literal retelling of the story with a good amount of description. It probably wouldn't be all that dumbed down if it's at a 6th-7th grade reading level. How does the dialogue between WALL-E and EVE work? Do you get more insight into character thoughts? Sorry for all the questions...

No problem on the questions! (I've actually thought about posting some selections from them just to see if people feel that the writing style captures the "feel" of the film -- especially for certain scenes. But I didn't know exactly how to frame the content to be a good thread to invite discussion.) Some selections are REALLY good and made me see the scene in a different light. And some parts are just so touching that I actually have a new love of the scene I didn't have before. But then there are some selections that are just painful to read because they feel so sloppy and goofy. Especially with the dialogue between WALL-E and EVE -- in both books it feels very forced, not nearly as sweet and touching as it was in the movie. And, actually, it's pretty clear that these books were written long before the final version of the screen play was done. There are some plot points that don't match the film at all -- all minor, but I'm all about the details so that distracts me from the narrative. I'd be glad to type out some selections -- especially if there's a particular scene that you'd like to hear how it was played out in the book. Just let me know!

Oh wow! Could you possibly put up the scene when WALL-E takes EVE to his trailer?
Thank you so much!

Sure, no problem! I'll put in a different thread -- and in the appropriate forum area so I'm being a good little contributor.
