Pixar post one of their best movies and best-reviewed movies (WALL-E) creating a Miyazaki-like piece of awesome? It da*n well better be a hit!

I'm definitely looking forward to it. However, I don't expect it to be on the same level as WALL-E, which just completely blew me away. It's not that I don't think Pixar will try to top themselves...it's just that they've already set the bar so ridiculously high.

*nods* Topping WALL-E, at least via another animated film, is gonna near impossible for me. But if it comes close, I'll be just as happy.

Same for me. WALL-E is just one in a million. But I am glad to hear that Pixar is completely breaking with the "talking animals" mold and doing more thought-provoking and thoughtful films that deal with more "real" emotions and personalities. Anime's been doing that for a long time and I never thought I'd see the day when an American animation company would go down the same path.

As much as I want "Up" to be a success (and I'm sure it will be a great film), I know there's no way it could replace WALL-E as my number one Pixar film. Not only that, I don't want it to replace WALL-E.

Not only that, I don't want it to replace WALL-E. I know how you feel. I just hope that attitude doesn't ruin the film for me. I can just see myself in the movie theater with my 3-D glasses, thinking, "Wouldn't WALL-E be really cool in 3-D? I wish they released it in 3-D." "Hey, that was a pretty good scene. Not as good as anything in WALL-E, but what can be?"

Haha, my school's desks had tennis balls on the legs...
While I think Up will be an awesome movie, I agree that there's no way it could ever beat Wall-E as Pixar's best movie. Wall-E definitely raised the bar as high as it can go. Wall-E was one of the best films of all time, so comparing it to other Pixar movies, IMHO, is like, "Well, um, DUH..."
But, I know it'll be a great movie. The story sounds awesome.
