It just sort of fit for me when I heard Stanton talk about the late 60s to early 80s influence of sci fi on his vision for the film.

Aren't they great??? I just loved seeing the many different expressions you could get out of her eyes. It seems like as the movie goes on (maybe as she becomes more "alive" with WALL-E's influence?), her eyes become more and more expressive. Or maybe that just me reading something in that not really there.
