This movie (the first) was my childhood. I watched it constantly. My second favorite Pixar movie.

These movies are some of the best works to come out of Pixar, I loved them both. Practically cried during both as well.

Toy Story was my favorite Pixar film until WALL-E came along.
The sequel was nice as well. The song "When She Loved Me" always made me want to cry.

Toy Story Is Either My Second Or Third Tied With Wall*E, Toy Story 2 Is Right After Though, Even Though I Liked One And Two About Equally.

Toy Story is great, I've seen it multiple times and it just was a fantastic starting point for Pixar overall. I remember enjoying the second movie too, but I've only seen it once and I unfortunately don't remember a whole lot about it.

I've just watched both movies back-to-back. I've seen Toy Story 2 semi-regularly, but I haven't seen the original film in years(at least half a decade). It was a cherished favorite of mine as a child, but shamefully for me, it would be eventually pushed out of my mind by Pixar's other films, including it's superlative sequel.
Watching it now, it still very much holds up. The animation might seem slightly simpler in light of the groundbreaking work in this year's WALL-E, but the storytelling and characters are as wonderful as ever. There is truly no animation studio like Pixar.

I was actually studying 3D animation in college at the time the first one came out so I literally went to see it every day for a month because I just couldn't believe what I was seeing and was so inspired by it for my class projects.

Toy Story was actually the first movie I'd ever seen in theaters (and possibly even ever). I was only three, but I can vaguely remember the experience. It was also the first VHS that my parents bought just for me; I still have it, and it's in fine condition.
I watched the second one on the first day it came out, and I remember being completely blown away by it, almost to the point of me not liking the first film anymore. I'm surprised it's not in my collection, I'll have to fix that problem soon.
Nowadays, I kinda prefer the first one a bit more, because of my fond memories of it, and I think the script is a little more mature than the second one. They're both fantastic, though.

Wow. My only experience with Pixar is being an adult and loving the movies. I never thought about the fact that the little ones who were in the theatre with me would be older when the second one came out and grown up now.
Boy, do I envy you people who grew up watching Pixar films. About the closest we had as kids in the 70s were the Muppets.

I was three when the first one came out, and by the time 3 comes out, I'll be 18. Not to mention the 3-D re-releases of the first and second ones, which I will of course be seeing. It'll be great to experience these movies in theaters again.

I like the first one better than the second one. I grew out of Pixar films when I saw Toy Story 2 so I didn't like it much. Although I still liked wall-e
