One of the things that struck me when I first saw the film was where the Axiom is . . . it's "docked" behind a cloud formation that looked very much to me like the famous formation in the Eagle Nebula. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Nebulawww.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/origins/hubble.htmlAnyone else agree? Or do you think we're seeing a reference to some other famous cosmic scene/photograph?

Can someone post a pic of this cloud formation in the movie, please? This wasn't something I noticed or remembered when I saw the movie, so I think I would need to see the picture next to the Eagle Nebula picture to be able to compare them.

Yeah, that was actually came to my mind first time saw the movie. I thought it was another "space clouds" or something, because I never heard about Eagle Nebula. But I'm sure I read about those beautiful things somewhere.

Well, I think my imagination might be doing some stretching here . . . but those shots just sort of made me think of that photo since it's one of my favorite from the "Hubble".

They remind me of some of the ginormous clouds you see in Florida. You could find them in other places as well. But I've only seen them in Florida.

That second picture reminds me of Pride Rock from the Lion King.

I don't see a resemblance, but any excuse to view the awesome beauty of the Eagle nebula is good enough for me.

Well, it's gotta be a nebula of some kind...when you see clouds in space, that's generally what it is. I can't discern for myself whether or not it's a famous nebula, though, or if it's just supposed to be some random nebula out there.
