Not on my Top 25 list, but once I got a chance to rewatch it now that I'm older, I really enjoyed it. Great movie.

Fantastic movie. Just fantastic. I love movies that show humans at their absolutely worst and at their absolute best. I also really like the whole "historical" aspect of it; that you really get a sense of years going by and how these men's lives are affected and not affected by the passing years.

"I love movies that show humans at their absolutely worst and at their absolute best." I think that describes me, as well! I definitely agree with you on it all. There's not much else I can say.

This might sound odd, but this film was actually a childhood favorite of mine. Yes indeed, I watched this film at a age I wasn't supposed to -- yet, even back then, it's quality and narrative power had an impact on me. That's how good it is.

I don't remember my age, but I would guess the late 90's(I was born in 1989). I had recorded it on a blank VHS tape from an old local broadcast along with a few other movies. And it would become one of the first films I bought on DVD when I finally got a player. And now I feel like popping it in again...

Well, I just finished rewatching this on DVD. What can I say? Absolutely mesmerizing from the first frame to the last. I was in tears by the end.
I'm not a film connoiseur and there's plenty of supposed masterpieces I haven't seen yet, but this is the finest piece of cinema I have ever seen(or at least tied with Schindler's List).

You know, I have been putting off seeing Schindler's List for such a long time. I really need to. I'm pretty sure I'll like it. Oh, and I'm glad you enjoyed Shawshank Redemption (again). It is definitely one of the finest pieces of cinema I have seen, too.

I have yet to see the Shawshank in it's entirety. I did read the short novella that it was based on.
One of these days, I'll give it another shot. Tim Robbins was wonderful from what I have seen.

Why didn't you see it in it's entirety, Lucky?
