I'm sad. I'd be willing to give it a chance as it's one of my favorite horror movies, but everything I just read made me have virtually no faith. They're using CGI when practical effects are mostly useable, and they're deviating heavily from the first. I think it'd work better as a loose sequel to the first, or even a Poltergeist inspired movie without using the Poltergeist name, if that's the case.

I agree with MD. Poltergeist is a classic. The original cast and director were just phenomenal.
Tobe Hooper, Jobeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson. Brilliant!
I enjoyed House of Sand and Fog, but I don't know if Vadim Perelman can pull out a spectacular remake.
I'm going to say no.

From the name of the website, I thought this would be an animated remake of Poltergeist. Man, how weird would that be?

Yes, yes I will. I'd love to see this done right, though, and am not at all against a remake in general. I'm against them not doing a remake properly.
