Nice, making up for all the similarly glowing reviews that gave 4 out of 5, one extra point at a time. ;D

Wow, thanks Vanessa — this was a wonderfully validating review to read!
I loved their line (heck, whole paragraph) which went . . .
"With a success-streak that drives every other studio in Hollywood up the wall, Pixar has constantly topped itself, and while we all have our favourites among their animated pantheon, Stanton's latest is Pixar's most ambitious project by far -- a sparsely-verbalised sci-fi tale, halfway bleak, significantly satirical, alarmingly real in its view of a flubbed-up future, and a robotic love story -- and by Walt, they pull it off so bloody marvelously."
The wonderful superlatives just continue from there. I'd wind up quoting the whole thing here . . . but it's better to go read it at the source!
I think that just like KUNG FU PANDA, WALL•E will wind up doing better by a significant margin in International grosses than it has so far in US Domestic grosses. So if PANDA can top $550 million world-wide, I'm now foreseeing a possible $750 million world-wide box office gross for WALL•E! Hopefully the animation-loving Japanese especially can perhaps make DARK KNIGHT sweat a bit for the top grossing spot in their country!

I'd love love love it if that happened, but right now I'm expecting 500 million, with 600 being the best it can reach. Here's hoping, though!

Great review!
I love this, because it points out how the movie can take something so mundane and funny, and make it into something far more meaningful.

Exactly, Khodhum. It's so great to read a review where the critic got the point. Even some critics that are complimentary didn't understand that point.

Yeah, it is a relieve that we're not 'alone' on this excitement for Wall-E!

The review made me very happy, the comments made me want to hurt someone. Seriously, Kung Fu Panda's a fine film, but it is NOT better than Wall-E. People couldn't even explain what was wrong with Wall-E, just that it was "boring" and "stupid" and "not fit for kids".

The review made me very happy, the comments made me want to hurt someone. . Same here! I couldn't stand the haters! They didn't point any reason why they hate Wall-E. Boring? Stupid? Weird? Puhleaze...... Btw, awesome signature, Castoro!

I saw the comments, and I wasn't going to mention them, but...yeah. I'm not sure what movie those people were watching, but it couldn't have been WALL-E. And then you had people bashing the review, too! *sigh*

Wonderful review even with all the crude, unenlightened comments.

Yep, no glowing WALL-E review would be complete unless the idiots showed up. ;D

This is a fantastic review. I was almost choked up, it imparted the spirit behind my beloved Wall•E so well. And this bit about children's films was solid gold. I had never considered the G-rated film experience this way before!
Sigh. It's true...
Never before have I wanted the apocalypse to happen just for the off chance that it would turn out this adorable.

It's true, The Apocalypse has never been so cute. And that bit is going in the taglines thread!
