I actually got worried for wall-e there I know that feeling when you have an item you love alot T_T and then if it breaks your whole world breaks D: And i didnt get teary eyed or misty eyed or w/e Though the ending did make me sad It's not just a treasured item. With nobody but a cockroach for company, his will to live was probably almost gone.

Yeah . . . speaking of heart-breaking losses . . . this is why I'm buying 2 copies of WALL-E when it comes out . . . I don't even want to mentally go to a place in the future when I wear the DVD out and Disney's put it in their "vaults".

I'd copy the movie into a blank DVD and use that instead of the original! Unless, of course, my DVD recorder fails me

Yes, that's why I need to up my "insurance." Can't wait to see the clerk's face when I buy 3 copies (2 regular and 1 Blu-ray even though I don't have a blu-ray player yet) . . .

Hehe, too bad retail stores don't operate on commission, then you'd be able to make someone's day. ;D

Yeah . . . it'll probably be the same guy who made the crack about Ratatouille being better because it had "less slapstick." ;D

I thought DVD's were indestructible. As in they don't wear simply from playing it too many times.

DVD's being worn out is kind of a myth. They store digital information that can't be removed. They CAN, however, become dirty such that they become difficult to read, but if you keep your equipment and disks clean there shouldn't be a problem. Also, if Disney stops manufacturing more disks they can still easily be found online, like on eBay.

And actually I've heard from moms who buy lots of DVDs for kid viewing that they've had DreamWorks DVDs "wear out", but never once have had a Disney one have problems.
No, it's more of a joke that I worry I would "wear it out". But I do worry that I would scratch or do other damage to it because I can be rather clumsy at times. ;D
And, yeah . . . with eBay and all, there isn't the "buy it now because it's going back in the Vault" fear like there was 10 years ago. I'm just going overboard because I am so koo-koo about this film.

Ahaha. You're not alone. I'm considering buying it on both Blu-ray and DVD. I'll buy the Blu-ray so I can watch it in High Def, and I'll buy the DVD so I can watch it while I wait for a Blu-Ray player.

So, I'm not the only one who is willing to take the Blu-ray plunge only because of this movie! ;D

Nope, you're not the only one! I think there's going to be a lot of money being made in the blu-ray industry when this one is released. This is probably going to be the first blu-ray I'll ever own. And the funny thing is I don't even want it for the extra-special features it will have that the DV won't have. I just want to watch it in the most perfect quality possible. I want the complete Wall-E experience. It's times like this when I wish my basement was a giant theater auditorium like my brother in law-s cousin's basement.

If a 100 dollar or cheaper Blu-ray player exists (one that functions properly), I'll take the plunge, but it won't do me much good with my old non HD TV.
