Holy *bleeeeeeeeeep*! This cover is awesome! I hope the description on the back is just as good. I want something like this: In a post-apocalyptic dystopian future, the last living robot on Earth attempts to woo a classy girl, while accidently saving the human race from eternal boredom. That's pretty much the movie in a nutshell.

I'm not sure about it, personally. This was posted a few days ago on the UltimateDisney forums, and I'll say the same thing here. IMO, I feel the cover is too busy; and it doesn't match the overall tone and style that the movie itself had. Something more understated, and "classy" would've been more appropriate. On top of that, why are M-O and Eve on the outside of the ship with Wall-E; why is the Earth not an unhealthy brown. And unless it came from Krypton, that plant should be long dead; not being able to survive either the process of breaking atmosphere, or the vacuum of space. It isn't the fact it's not movie accurate that bothers me; but it looks more like something an over-eager 10 year-old that just learned how to use cut and paste in Photoshop might do. They just seemed to mix a bunch of random elements from various points in the movie and stuck them together in a scene that, while attractive, doesn't really make sense in the context it's being used. I prefer the cover Disney seems to be using for France: www.amazon.fr/Wall-E-Blu-ray-Philippe-Bozo/dp/B001DCKMRA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1218957171&sr=1-3

While mildly irritating, the French do seem to have an appreciation of aesthetics that most in the North American marketing field utterly lack.

Well, you know how us Americans are.... flashy and show-offy is the way to go.
Having said that, although that French cover art is better than our cover art and is more appropriate, I actually kinda like ours. Still, I don't know how M-O is hanging onto that ship.

Well, I think they are trying to appeal more to the kids and such with the NA boxart, but I can see that as well for France. Maybe I'll print a new slipcover sometime with the French words translated to English. Heh.

I know of no kid that goes out and buys their own DVDs, anyway. Personally, I'd feel a lot better going up to the cashier (especially a cute one, lol) at HMV with the French DVD cover than the one we'll be getting.

The WALL-E cover isn't THAT bad. Now the cover for The Simpsons Movie, THAT is bad. Homer eating a donut? Is this The Homer Movie? The french cover was awesome, though. Anyway, I can see why the marketers made the Earth blue and not brown. Infact, these are the same marketers that made WALL-E toys with unrecyclable materials!

It's just that Wall-E is so much better than most movies, it deserves to have truly good, and tasteful cover art. It's part sci-fi, after all... and great sci-fi at that (though also blending the unlikely companion genres of comedy and romance, lol)... as such it needs something that gives off an impression of almost ethereal grandeur.

I love the French cover. I don't see why they couldn't have just used the "main" poster picture for the American DVD cover.

I really like the French cover, but can't see the images in the OP. Are they the 2-Disc and Blu-ray I posted earlier this week? If so I agree that the French cover is better. Hopefully the 3-Disc will have a great cover, though, as the Special Edition DVD's generally get the best covers in North America, IMO.

Actually, you'd be a little disappointed with the 3-Disc...

Hrm, it'll do, as long as the DVD features are as great as they're claiming. It's at least nice to see them not just slapping WALL-E on there and being done with it. Even if it's a bit uninspired.
