Appearance-wise, WALL-E reminded me of R.O.B. (that Nintendo robot you can play as in Smash Bros. Brawl) when I first saw him. But after I saw the movie, I just couldn't compare the two anymore...there are tons of differences.

Someone who Eve really reminds me of is San from Princess Mononoke. She doesn't look like her, but she has the same personality. She was raised by wolves and she is taught to hate humans and protect the forest. While Eve doesn't possess any of those qualities, she's the same in that she has one priority and doesn't let anything get in her way, until someone comes along and makes her start to think differently. As for Wall-E, I can't think of anyone at the top of my head. When I do I'll let you know. But like someone said (sorry, I forgot who), he's his own character.

Alright, I found the best thing I could compare WALL-E to... ... me I like to think we all have a bit of Wall-E in us

Quite a philosophical and psychological answer, fastdash9. Or the most adequate answer.

Whoa. Fastdash, you rock. And that really is true . . . we do see WALL-E in ourselves so much that comparing him to another character is difficult. Amazing observation.
Yes, EVE is totally Princess Mononke!!!

Or Princess Kida, I save that argument.
It seems that for most people Wall-E is touchable and warm and easy to be identical with, while EVE seems...idealistic; some chinese reviews refer to her as a mysterious, spiritual, fairy-like lady in Martial Arts legends who lived in some wonderlands and always kept people a distance away.

This is very interesting . . . I can't think of Western traditional story/characters that EVE or WALL-E seem to reflect . . . very cool observation.

How about this one? I know it is a strange reference, having nothing in common besides the look. Casper just have an EVE look... I missed this one. Yeah, definitely. Appearance-wise he looks like Eve. But personality wise, now that I think of it, he's a lot like Wall-E.

The interaction between WALL-E and M-O actually reminds me of the interaction between Tom Hank's character Viktor Navorski and the janitor Gupta Rajan in the movie The Terminal that came out in 2004. Both of them are quirky, one of them cleans for a living, and they clash at first

Oh yeah! I forgot about Viktor Navorski! I remember thinking of him and how he was similar to Wall-E when I was in the airport one day. Also the interaction between him and the flight attendant reminded me of Wall-E and Eve.

Also the interaction between him and the flight attendant reminded me of Wall-E and Eve. Hey, yeah! I guess that would make Enrique Cruz (food delivery guy), Mulroy, officer Torres and all the other people involed the rogue robots, and Frank Dixon (the head of airport security) would be AUTO (...afterall, he was only following protocol)

Most definitely! I thought of that too! And all the guards are the steward kiosks, and the head guard was like GO-4. We've got almost everyone
