I am totally in agreement with this. I'm thinking he would like The Sound of Music very much. I think I could see Mary Poppins working, too.
Wonder how well WALL-E would be able to say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"...

Yes, exactly. (Thanks!) The black thing closest to the iPod shelf sort of looks like a videocassette to me . . .

i cant tell by looking, but i think what would be even more cool would have been if wall-e was operating a super-8 or a 16mm or even a 35mm movie projector, which would have been more likely to remain functional over 700 years then a magnetic tape.. but thats of course beside the point

Maybe A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, a film about a robot boy who wants to be human and experience love. (I imagine the "flesh fair" scene would traumatize WALL-E though.)

WALL-E wouldn't want post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror flicks like I Am Legend. He already experiences that day in and day out. He wants something that will at least help fill the void inside, just 1%. That's why he watches cheery musicals. Plus, he's a cute guy that likes cute things. Anyway, I think he might enjoy Elmo in Grouchland. You can't get much more childish than that. However, he might be reminded of Earth by how there's trash everywhere in Grouchland.

Now THAT'S a clever idea! Yes, I think he'd find Oscar the Grouch pretty interesting.

You mean because he loves trash? The thing is, Oscar loves things that are useless, like shoes with torn laces. WALL-E likes pretty/entertaining stuff that he finds in the trash.

If you read the rest of the thread, you'll see that my comment was tongue-in-cheek as an "in-joke" that the animators would've thrown in, not as something WALL-E would actually like.
