It's funny, because after my first time seeing it, that banner was one of the first things that stuck out to me. I thought it was hilarious. The question is, we're all leaving earth, so what are we going to do with all that stuff? What's the point in buying it? I guess some people are just that stupid. You make anything half off and they will buy it just because it's half off. Which reminds me... does anyone remember Y2K?

I've only seen the movie twice so far. I obviously need to few it a lot more. The only edge of the frame detail that I remember is "Evacuation Sale". That was pure genius. I caught it on the second viewing.

Y2K? You mean that thing that I got paid hours and hours of overtime to go through 300 copies of proprietary software installs to "fix"? No, don't remember that . . . except in my nightmares. ;D

All I remember about Y2K (outside of people freaking out and stocking up on canned beans) was the New Year's Eve celebration playing "It's the End of the World (As We Know It)" on TV.

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn, world serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs, feed it off an aux speak grunt no speak the ladder start to clatter with a fear fight, down height... THE Best song Ever! Certainly the song I want Earth to go out to LOL

Anybody else notice that M-O's cleaning noise is an electric razor? Or it sounds A LOT like it. I was watching a movie and it had someone shaving their face but they didn't show it right away, you just heard it, and I thought it was M-O!

That's what it is! I knew it sounded familiar but all I could think of was the little hand-held machine I use to take the fuzzies off my sweaters!

Haha...I, too, never noticed the Evacuation Sale banner! That's amusing.
As for what the consumers are going to do with all that stuff...well, in the News Center part of the BnL viral website, it definitely seemed to me that the very ACT of shopping brought people happiness (in fact, they have a drug that enhances that happiness). So my thought is that the people probably weren't really concerned with whether what they were going to buy would be useful or not. They just wanted the opportunity to buy more stuff.

I only caught this in my last viewing (sheepish). Throughout the movie, you can se WALL-E's energy level lowering, little by little. After AUTO shocks him, he has one bar left, I think.
