I'm sure a lot of people know about the cameo of the robot BURN-E outside of the ship at the end of the "Define Dancing" scene (best scene in the movie), but why is BURN-E earth class when it clearly is on the Axiom? Shouldn't it be BURN-A, such as the Axiom class WALL-A's?

Either the E designation is a different class distinction on board The Axiom, BURN-E was built for welding jobs on Earth and adapted to a job onboard The Axiom, or the "BURN-E" name is not meant to be an actual acronym, such as PR-T and VN-GO, but rather simply to evoke what his "function" was through a simple word. My choice goes to the last option, considering we have all the other bots that have the exact same name structure (PR-T, VN-GO, VAQ-M).

I had thought about this too . . . maybe "E" stands for something other than "Earth-Class"?

All of these are good theories. Maybe the short that comes with the DVD will explain things?

Maybe E stands for something like 'Extra-orbital' since he was working out in space?

It may, although I'm not expecting it to unless they just notice the fans are wanting to know. I thought the idea that his name is the same as "PR-T" and "VN-GO" in that it just expresses what he does without an acronym meaning is enough for them to not have to explain it.
