I voted for the Captain. Cap really showed what he was made of by standing up to AUTO and trying to get the ship back to Earth.

WALL-E. He's the most endearing character I've seen on screen in a long time.

With Wall-E, Pixar did the impossible; made me like a robot even more than the Iron Giant.

That is pretty darn tough, great film (The Iron Giant). Although they had me at "Waaaaallll-E" during the previews. ;D

As much as I love WALL-E(who doesn't?), I had to vote for EVE.
In a way, it was even harder to convey EVE as a character since she only has an LCD screen, yet they pulled it off wonderfully. EVE has so much more charm and personality than many human females I've seen in live-action media. I was near tears when she finally saw everything WALL-E did for her during her deactivated status.

I agree completely. I went in knowing I'd love WALL-E, but I came out unexpectedly having loved EVE. I think that LCD screen more of a blessing than a curse, though, as it provided eye movements that she otherwise wouldn't have had (unless she has WALL-E's binocular eyes).

Yeah, I had to pick WALL-E, of course. But I don't think there's one character in this film that I would say I "hated" in the sense that I was disappointed whenever that character was in a scene.

My answer has to be WALL-E, though I certainly don't want to discredit the other characters. EVE has got to be an infinitesimally close second. The Captain was definitely great (he says my favorite line in the movie), and I came to have a much greater appreciation for M-O the second time I saw the movie...I felt like I understood his character a lot better, and I noticed more of the little things he did. I guess those would have to be my favorite four, although nods go to Hal, John, and Mary. And AUTO...well, I don't LIKE AUTO, "like" isn't the right word...but I thought he was an interesting villain because, while the other robots were so human-like, he really was a robot, through and through, refusing to deviate from his programming.

About AUTO, I agree. I love villains that do what they do either because they have to or they think it's right, or as in this case because they're programmed to do it. Villains that are just evil because they think it is fun don't connect with me as well.
