Thought I'd start a new thread on this . . . My take on it is that by 2110, BNL has taken over Apple and Microsoft and is using the best of both in their technology. So, WALL-E may have a little of both. (Although if he was built with the "best" technology, I'd bet he's more Mac than PC. ;D )

I think his "outter" workings are definitely PC. Boxy and clunky, not as sleek as Apple products. His insides may very well be Mac, or some kind of hybrid.

I think he might be a Mac just because the people at Pixar love Mac. And he makes the Mac start-up noise. But I like the idea of him being a PC and Eve being a Mac. It's a cool twist on the whole idea of "opposites attract".

I've solved the mystery. WALL-E is a PC who's original programmer was a Mac-obsessed tech guy who was forced to work on this PC type robot. In his frustration he recorded the Mac startup sound and set it as WALL-E's startup.

(You Mac folks, feel free to tell me if this is impossible and I'm making a fool of myself.) Alternatively WALL-E is indeed a PC....but the tech uninstalled Windows and installed OS X on him. Similar to how I always ditch internet explorer and get Firefox even if people don't ask me to on their machines when I work on 'em.

I think his "outer" workings are definitely PC. Boxy and clunky, not as sleek as Apple products. His insides may very well be Mac, or some kind of hybrid. PCs needn't be boxy or clunky; I built my PC myself, and it's reasonably attractive. As for the insides, PC and Mac are generally more or less the same these days. Unfortunately with Mac, though, you pretty much have to take what hardware they decide to put in it. That may be fine if you're buying a $5000+ desktop model (even then, I'd rather have a different burner/etc.), but I prefer building my own systems with components I choose myself.

I'm a PC guy myself, Greymon, just going with the general "idea" that people have about the two products. I designed my own PC for one of my courses this year in college (didn't get to actually put it together, sadly, as that would cost real money) and found a great case and built a top of the line system. Believe I had the highest grade in the class.
Anyway, it's the basic idea from those "Hi, I'm a Mac/Hi, I'm a PC" commercials I was getting at. The business-suit wearing non "cool" thing vs. the sleeker more "hip" thing. You and I know that PC's don't have to be un"cool", but sadly some others have gotten the impression that they do.

I'm a PC myself too . . . and I've actually always been pretty happy with them until the IE7, SP3 and Vista issues started popping up and scaring me to death.

Boo Vista, Boo IE! I'm cool with PC's, but Firefox goes on all my machines and I'm sticking with XP until they pry it from my cold dead hands!
