Thanks to smkndofpnutdssrt for inspiring this thread . . .
What's the funniest "to English" translation you've read? My husband and I pick up things from Chinatown and enjoy reading the translations for fun . . . here's the latest one for a little fragrance dispenser . . .
"The proctucts have small parts and small magnets. In order to not interfeve, please stay away from gravity and magnetic field."
Sure, no problem. Staying away from gravity as we speak.
"Do not be rude to use the prodact, it is fragile."
Yes, be polite. The product is very sensitive. It had a bad childhood.
"Please to properly handle the packaging, not casually discarded. Don't cause poullation."
Yeah, no poullation. Save the envirounment!

My Intro to PC's teacher last quarter told us a story about a Chinese storefront setting up for the Olympics. They went online to look up the translation of a certain phrase, probably a welcoming phrase for their customers. They copied the translation word for word onto the sign they had made. It read:
404 Error: File Not Found

Wait...what did I do? OOOhhh.....Ok remember now, haha I've got plenty of these. My grandmother got an email with pictures of things in China, and on a menu, they were putting translations of different foods, and one of them was "Looks like squirrel" Let's see. There's also: "RC Anti-Lust Spray" "Bad and fragrant young soybean" "High grade puke" (I don't know what it's supposed to be) "hand grenade" for a fire extinguisher "Please present this voucher before breakfart" a sign in a garden says, "Please don't dirty my face" "The environment policies of Wujiang jingsi garden: Protect the environment, From me, and also from out garden" "Automatic faucet...unnecessary touching" "rotion" on a bottle of lotion "participate equally and share into the joy of special olympics" "Dry fried a** meat in xiang style" "Fire is in a safe hand. We are in a safe world" "Yu Kee Food Co." "Whitening peeling cream...remove horniness" For more, visit www.engrish.com

Hopper stole what I was going to say. Okay, how about this one from the original Metal Gear: "I feel asleep"

Has "Off course!" from FF7 been done yet? In context it's somewhat funny, as it's a text menu option and is meant to be "Of course!"

Oh, I have another one. my sister has a friend who was in Korea and she sent her a postcard and it had pictures of sunshine, clouds, and flowers, and above each flower it said things like "Hi!" "Hello!" "Wow!" "Grow Up Grow!" and best of all, "Happy Virus!"
