One of my favorite moments in the movie is when M-O desperately works up his courage and leaps off the laser-line, only to hear a reprimanding buzz isntead of the fire and brimstone he was expecting, and with a delighted giggle takes off down the trail of mud that Wall-E has left. ...btw, I know what WALL-E and EVE stand for, but what about M-O? Modus Operandi? Mold opener?

Hi again, I researched and apparently "M-O" stands for "Microbe Obliterator". From what I understand they just came up with names then made up the acronyms for them after that based on their jobs.

So far, it's unanimous; M-O is my third-favorite too. I'm a MONK fan, so naturally I'd like his little OCD robot conterpart.
And OddsGirl; you're analysis of his 'courageous act of defiance' scene was absolutely dead-on. I loved it too.

I just cannot stop laughing whenever I see or think about M-O trying to clean WALL-E for the first time and the sounds of absolute frustration he makes as WALL-E keeps moving around. Whenever I'm frustrated by something at work I immediately think of those sounds.

M-O had exactly the kind of personality a cleaning robot should.
"Foreign contaminant!"

Whenever I'm frustrated by something at work I immediately think of those sounds. Me too - so much! Often i just make his noise to myself in my head to make myself laugh. I do a fair impression of it too :DAlso the cutest visual bit imho is when Wall-E starts to get cheeky and dips out his muddy track towards M-O knowing it will wind him up heh! And yes it is great when M-O steps out from his comfort zone and expands his horizons

M-O is my favorite character. His sounds are hilarious.
To me, it's also hilarious how small M-O is. He's so small but getting angry at something about 3 times bigger than him.

He's both my mom and dad's favorite. He doesn't have a spot on my favorites list (mine are Wall-E and Auto, followed by Eve), but it doesn't mean I don't like him. He's too cute to not like.
Personally, I just love his squeal of abject horror/frustration when Wall-E marks his face.
