Howdy everyone,
What book genres do you like to read?
I love fantasy, horror, young adult, some Christian fiction and a little of non-fiction.

My tastes are pretty eclectic, but I usually base my purchases around certain authors:
Stephen King Chuck Palahniuk Neil Gaiman
I also really like most fantasy, especially based in Arthurian Legend, as well as other horror novels by Clive Barker and Dean Koontz. Much of my collection are the "classics" of fantasy:
The Chronicles of Narnia Series The Lord of the Rings Series His Dark Materials Series
I'm really looking forward to getting collected versions of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and The Spiderwick Chronicles.

Nice list there Midgard. I actually didn't care for the Lemony Snicket books, but I enjoyed the Spiderwick Chronicles.

I liked the film well-enough for Lemony Snickets. What didn't you like about the books, Dawg? If you liked the film and not the books I might have to cross them off my list unless I see 'em cheap.
Oh, and also, there is one book in my collection that isn't in my usual genres at all, that I adore:
The Time Traveler's Wife

Only books I really have read in my life at the Harry Potter books and various books by Agatha Christie

Which reminds me, I also have the nice hardback editions of the last two Harry Potter books. If I could afford them I'd complete the set, but since I can't I'm cool with just having those two, they're my favorites anyway.

I just can't put my finger on it Midgard. But, don't let my lame review stop you from reading the series. And I didn't see the movie either - not a Jim Carrey fan.

It's always been my dream to write young adult fiction, so I always try to read all the nominees for the big awards like the Newberry, etc.
I personally really liked the Lemony Snicket series, but I can totally understand why not everyone would.
My favorite author currently writing is Marcus Zusak. "The Book Thief" is probably my favorite fiction ever.
Weirdly wonderful is what I like.

A woman after my own heart. It's so cool to hear people say that they are willing to try just about anything instead of the "I ONLY read Michael Crichton" kind of thing. I worked at a bookstore chain as one of my first jobs out of high school and I couldn't believe how closed-minded people could be when you would suggest other titles you were sure they would like.

horror and mystery, pretty much. fantasy is pretty good too, but the only ones i have REALLY read were the harry potter series.
mild romance is okay. i read 'the time travelers wife' and it was spectacular.
ficiton as well. my favorite book is 'marley & me' and i really like the 'a child called it' books. so depressing. D:
i should probably just say i like about anything, HAHA.
